Good morning and happy Monday!
Just wanted to remind everyone that the Summer Mini is good until the END OF AUGUST. Any items that you absolutely love, you should get now because I don't think you can get them again. So because of that, I just HAD to make a card using "The Open Sea" stamp set and the "Nautical Expedition" Designer Series Paper (DSP). An excellent stamp set to invest in especially if you want to do a lot of masculine cards but I think it's a great set for any occasion. Here is what I came up with.
I used Basic Black cardstock as the base and then just layered pieces of the Nautical Expedition DSP. I really distressed the edges by using a pair of scissors to grunge it up a bit. I then used some baker's twine (page 194 in the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalogue) to add some dimension and a star brad (retired but I think you can purchase it on the Clearance Rack). With the image of the ship, I heat embossed it using silver embossing powder (page 201) which I decided last minute to do and I'm happy with the results.
Don't let this stamp set go by without ordering it!!
